COUPLING HANDS ON CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING PRODUCTS KNOWLEDGE WITH YEARS OF DESIGNING HOMES FOR HUNDREDS OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS

BACKGROUND

I'm KC Ahles and I was born and raised in Northern Wisconsin, the son of a residential contractor. I've been involved in the construction industry from the time I could operate a broom to keep the job sites cleaned. My post High School education was in architectural drafting and design at Northwest Technical Institute, a small private college where I obtained my Associates of Science in Structo-Architectural Drafting & Design in 1983

Since that time I have worked in the Engineering department for Wausau Homes and managed the drafting department for Tomahawk Log & Country Homes. I also spent 17 years as the General Manager for Tomahawk Lumber Company and finally ProBuild (Builders First Source). In those years I have continued to work with my contractors providing them with plans and design ideas.

In the winter of 2016 I realized I couldn't continue both avenues and on January 1st, 2017 KC by Design llc was formed and a new career path was taken.

PHILOSOPHY

My job is to listen to you, my customers, and make your dreams a reality. It's your home and you should get what you want. By playing devils advocate I help inform my customers about issues of comfort, code compliance, cost concerns, etc... but ultimately the goal is to help you obtain what you want within your budget.

I am the first step of the long journey called residential construction. My goal is to provide you with a set of plans that are complete, detailed and accurate, to help guide you and your contractor down the path to your dreams.

Knowledge

You will be working with the person the local contractors come to for help. I continuously research code compliance, construction materials and building science to stay up to date with the ever changing construction industry.
